Diary, 1850-1858.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten diary. The diary is in two sections, 1850-1853 and 1855-1858. In the earlier diary, Calkin writes that he arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah, and talks about hauling wood and teaching school to provide for his family. In the later diary, Calkin writes about his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to England. He also worked in the office of tithing records in England. He includes copies of letters and blessings in his record.
